Chicago's Flamingo was created by world-renowned artist Alexander Calder in 1974. Standing tall at 53 feet and weighing 50 tons this is an imposing structure. Its bright color, which is called ‘Calder Red,’ offsets the dark, steel office buildings nearby. As this is such an iconic sculpture I opted for a different approach when photographing it, hence the use of multiple exposures. I called this image Fragmented Flamingo as an allusion to the constructivist nature of sculpture.
